I've lived off Shobe Road a long time, and I've watched a lot of promises about our streets come and go. The city gave an update on the Streets Maintenance and Widening Plan at the Sept. 29 council meeting, but I still can't tell when anything on my end is actually getting done. The patches on Shobe have patches on them now, and my husband and I just replaced a tire rim we're fairly sure the road ate.
Two questions for you all.
First, which streets do you think are the worst right now? Has anyone called the city and gotten a straight answer on timing, or just a "it's in the plan"?
Second, back in July the council had a discussion-only item about a "Woodland Park Road failure." I never saw anything about what that meant. Did the road wash out, cave in, something else? If you live out that way or were at the meeting, please fill me in. I'd also like to know whether it comes out of the same street money everyone's waiting on, since I keep an eye on where our tax dollars go.
