Free firewood - seasoned oak, Reynolds Road side

Had an oak come down in the yard this spring... been sitting a good while so it's seasoned. Free to anyone who wants it. You haul it, I'm not loading anything. Pull in on the Reynolds Road side, it's stacked by the fence... First come, first served. Bring gloves, there's some bark and ants.

Just my two cents, better in somebody's fire pit than rotting out there.

Seasoned oak is gold for the smoker, thank you Joyce. Is it split or still in rounds?? Id come by this afternoon if its still there. Ill bring my own gloves and bug spray lol

Nice of you Joyce... I've got a truck and been needing wood for the fire pit, so I might swing by after work if there's any left. Ronald, if it's still in rounds bring a maul and a wedge or a wheelbarrow... oak rounds are heavy, learned that one the hard way. Ants are no joke either, so leave the bottom of the pile alone till you're ready to load.

Ronald, mostly rounds... a few split pieces on top. Zachary's right about the maul. There's an old wheelbarrow by the fence you can borrow, just leave it when you're done. Come on by anytime, no need to text first.

Just my two cents

Ronald, I'd go sooner rather than later. Free seasoned oak usually disappears fast around here. Joyce, thanks for posting this. I'm over on Alexander Road, so I might swing by after work if there's any left. I'll bring my own wheelbarrow so the borrowed one stays put for the next person.

Amber, bringing your own wheelbarrow was the classy move. Most people would have used the borrowed one and "forgotten" it in the back of their truck. 😄

I'm eleven days late to this thread, so I assume the pile is long gone. Free seasoned oak in Saline County has roughly the shelf life of a "free" box at the end of a driveway at a yard sale. I've been working yard sales for years, and anything labeled free is gone before the coffee finishes brewing.

Did either of you actually get some, and was it mostly rounds like Joyce said? I'm asking for next time, and also because I'd like to know whether the ants were as bad as advertised. Joyce, if it's all gone, a quick "taken, thank you" edit on the original post would save people a drive out to Reynolds Road for nothing.

Yep got a truckload that afternoon, was still plenty there. Mostly rounds like she said so I spent a good while on the maul, my back let me know about it lol. Ants wernt bad if you leave the bottom of the pile alone like Zachary said. Been burning it in the smoker ever since, makes a real good brisket and it burns clean
